This dude is relatively prolific and pretty damn reliable, I actually like this one more than I did the last LP...I prefer when he's not singing on the tracks, cuz then it's kinda like second-rate PandaBear but the girls on this are good, and the beats seem to be a little dancier good ish all-around.

Yeah im diggin this band haaard, one of the many Last.fm finds over the last year that I haven't really kept the blog informed. For a while now I have been on this suuuuper chill Balearic quasi-heaven Quaaluude fluffy stuff trip if you can swallow what im shootin, I don't know it's like my ears need physical therapy after subjecting them to years of teen angst and mid-2000's screamy skronky wankery(that's looking at you 31g and GSL) Ive dug on Air France, and the chillwavers like Washed Up(real good live at FYF last year beeteedub) and even some minimalist weirdness ala DJ Sprinkles...but what ive really always been wanting is Keep Shelly In Athens....this is it folks. You can see the steam rise from the sewers of a darklit and damp street circa 3am with possibe ladies of the night ducking into alleys and an old man coughing or so...basically it creates a whole world super cinematic inside your head. It also makes me want to get down on some real weird romance like taking a bunch of Diazepam and just laying in bed with a girl for like days straight not doing a damn thing, barely knowing either of us are there, doesn't that sound tight? i wish i had literally months of my life to blow on super silly projects like that.

annnnnywaaaaaaays research up on this band, and America! lose your pretensions so we can all live on the Iberian Coast of the mind! and also don't find any of Europe's pretensions either.

California has been enveloped by a thickening cloud of potsmog and whatever you may think about Prop.19 it ain't showing any signs of dispersal. I was down on Venice Beach earlier this fall and my time was spent a lot like Juicy J's and Project Pat's....although the extreme police presence was a little more than nauseating. I sat looking out on the ocean wondering if Jim Morrison had touched a girl on the very sand I was looking out at, then I wondered if George Jung had met up with some mexicans under the palm tree I was at....and then I got bummed again on all the fucking cops, and the realization that a Jim Morrison or George Jung or anybody halfway tight has a whole harder time gettin' shit done when pigs are scuttling up and down the beach on four-wheelers and horses....well whatever all the cops didn't stop me from getting Cali High, and neither I suppose do they stop many people
